The first of the two free concerts that Jazz San Javier will offer at the Barnuevo esplanade in Santiago de la Ribera will be starred by the British singer, pianist and composer, of Spanish origin, Mike Sánchez, pure "magic on stage" as defined by Bill Wyman with which Mike Sánchez played in the fifth edition of Jazz San Javier as part of Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings.
The toupee and the clothing with which it is presented, betray this musician devoted to rhythm & blues and rock and roll, who seems born to play live and unleash the rhythm in its path.
Mike Sánchez has a long career that began with The Rockets and Big Town Playboys, a renowned British rhythm & blues group with which he began to gain fame and recognition among musicians with whom he has played, toured or recorded as Robert Plant, leader Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Bill Wyman, with whom he played for four years, the vocalist Imelda May, Mick Fleetwood, Georgie Fame, or the guitarist Albert Lee with whom he has told for the recording of his album "So Many Routes ", last release, in 2014, within his solo career.
The boogie woogie, the blues or the rockabilly have no secrets for this musician, whose technique and musical knowledge, temperament, charisma and sense of the show make their live performances an unrepeatable experience.
"People who see him never forget him," said guitarist Albert Lee about Mike Sanchez, who will fill the Barnuevo esplanade with rockin 'sound, along with his band composed of Tom Bull (guitar), Nick Whitfield (double bass), Mark Morgan (drums), Nick Lunt (baritone sax) and Martin Winning (tenor sax).
