The City Council joins the campaign "Recycle glass and pedal" on the occasion of the arrival of La Vuelta a España 2018 in San Javier (08/08/2018)

The arrival of La Vuelta 2018 in San Javier can be a good opportunity to promote public awareness about glass recycling.

This has been understood by Ecovidrio and the City of San Javier that, taking advantage of the arrival of La Vuelta ciclista a España, on August 30 in San Javier, five glass containers with the campaign "Recicla vidrio y pedalea" have been vinylized.

The campaign that was presented this morning by the Councilor for Sports, Estibaliz Masegosa, Councilman Sergio Martinez and staff of Ecovidrio and Ecopilas, which will also participate in La Vuelta 2018, will have a final practical result since the glass recycled in these containers will be will produce the Sustainable Trophy, which will receive the winner of the stage that ends in San Javier on August 30.

The original Trophy aims to symbolize both the effort of cyclists in each stage and that of citizens to care for the environment.

The campaign "Recycle glass and pedal" that arrives in San Javier, will do it in seven other stages of La Vuelta with waste collection campaigns.

In addition, Ecovidrio puts on sale the commemorative and official "miniglú solidario" of La Vuelta a España 2018, which can be purchased through the website miniglu.es.

Thus, for every thousand units sold, Ecovidrio will donate a handbike to the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo.

The containers dedicated to La Vuelta Ciclista, in San Javier, have been located on Pinatar Avenue with Lope de Vega Street;

Balsicas avenue with Góngora street;

Almansa square with avda.

Calderón de la Barca;

Avenida Bartolomé Paños with Calle de las Rosas and Mar Menor avenue with García Morato street.

Ecopilas will also participate in the Vuelta 2018 to promote the selective collection and proper treatment of batteries and batteries among attendees.

To do this, stands will be placed in the exits and goals of the stages.

To encourage citizen participation, various prizes will be awarded to those who participate, as well as a gift to all those who contribute the most batteries.

Ecopilas will also reward the municipalities that collect more batteries and per inhabitant.
