La Vuelta 2018 will take the Mar Menor and Spanish Aviation avenues next Thursday, August 30, on the occasion of the arrival in San Javier of the 6th stage of the Tour of Spain from Huércal Overa, with the arrival at the finish line of the cyclists and the parallel activities "with which we want people to take part in the event," said the director of La Vuelta 18, Javier Guillén today in Santiago de la Ribera.

The arrival of the peloton to the finish line, which will be located on Mar Menor Avenue in the direction of San Javier, is scheduled at 5:30 pm, although La Vuelta Junior will be held first with the participation of 100 small runners from the area who will cover the last kilometer official travel where they will be treated as true professionals.

Both the Mar Menor avenue and the Spanish Aviation will host the 50 trucks of free distribution of merchandasing of the sponsors and the Parque Vuelta, an area of ​​free attractions to enjoy with the family throughout the afternoon, as well as the infrastructure of the different teams whose proximity It will allow the public to get up close to their idols.

The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo, who announced the participation of the Eagle Patrol with a pass over Mar Menor Avenue coinciding with the arrival of the cyclists, expressed "our deep gratitude to La Vuelta 18 and the regional government for allowing that San Javier welcomes this great celebration of the national sport that is the Vuelta Ciclista whose retransmission on television will cross national borders to reach up to 190 countries, Javier Guillén announced.

Luengo highlighted the importance that this event will have for the municipality of San Javier for the tourism promotion that will be broadcast worldwide on television.

The stage of San Javier will be 155 kilometers of which 124 pass in the Region of Murcia, which means three hours of television in which we show the Murcian territory, explained Guillén.

The arrival of the squad to San Javier that will enter the airport road and will surround the Puertas del Mar roundabout towards the Mar Menor avenue, is expected to be a sprint, added Javier Guillén, who highlighted the intensity of this type of shorter stages.

The Vuelta moves almost 500 vehicles including helicopters, television units, Civil Guard, and adds a large family of 3000 people, said its director, Javier Guillén estimated at 350,000 euros economic return to the Region, only in accommodation.

The 7th stage will start directly from Puerto Lumbreras where it will make a neutralized urban route before making its way to Pozo Alcón, in the province of Jaén.
