The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, through the Murcia Institute of Social Action IMAS, expands the places arranged in the residence for people with intellectual disabilities that the association in favor of people with disabilities of the National Police, Fundamifp, has in San Javier.
The Ministry recently approved three new places arranged for the residence, so that the regional government finances a total of 42 places arranged in this center, with an investment of 750,000 euros.
The new users will be incorporated in September to the residence, which will imply the practical elimination of the waiting list to access this center.
In the last two years, the Autonomous Community has incorporated 12 new places arranged for this residence in order to meet the demands of users.
The general director of People with Disabilities and Seniors, Ana Guijarro, recalled that "one of the priority objectives of the regional government is the creation of new residential places for people with disabilities.
So far in the legislature we have created a total of 656 new residential care centers, a day center and the promotion of autonomy, and we will continue to do so until we meet the goal of responding to all people with disabilities and their needs. "
In the Region of Murcia, a total of 4,208 places are offered in the care centers for people with disabilities and people with chronic mental disorder.
