The group of Italian students that these days are in exchange with students of IES "Mar Menor" visited the City Council today where they were received by the acting mayor, Teresa Foncuberta who welcomed them and wished them a happy stay in the municipality.

The Italian students, coming from Senigallia, municipality of the province of Ancona, in the Marche region, will spend a week hosted by local students who will return the visit from April 7 to 14.

The students, between 16 and 17 years old, participate in a cultural exchange, which for Italians is also linguistic since they study Spanish as a foreign language.

Accompanied by two teachers, the young people will take advantage of their stay in the municipality to practice their Spanish and get to know the local way of life, as well as making several cultural and tourist visits to the area, including the cities of Murcia, and also Valencia.

During the reception, in which were also present the mayor Carlos Albaladejo and the Councilor for Education, Catalina Pérez, the Italian professors and the acting alcladesa exchanged identifying objects of each municipality.

The acting mayor, Teresa Foncuberta receives the "Best Teacher of Spain 2017" Category Primary Education, Toni Garcia Arias, teacher and director of the CEIP "Joaquin Carrión"

The acting mayor, Teresa Foncuberta and the Councilor for Education, Catalina Perez have received today at the City Hall the teacher and director of the CEIP "Joaquin Carrion" of San Javier, Toni Garcia Arias, winner of the award for "Best Teacher of Spain 2018" in the category of Primary Education, the Educa Awards and the teacher Antonia Hernández, who practices in the same center and who was also selected as a candidate for the same degree.

Foncuberta congratulated both and showed him "the pride that supposes for San Javier to have in one of his schools the winner of the title", which both opted for at the proposal of students, alumni and their families.

Educa, a platform formed by professors of different educational stages for the promotion of Education, made a first selection among the teachers with the largest number of proposals received, which was later evaluated according to the merits of each of them, establishing a ranking of 10 Teachers from all over Spain in each category, which in the case of Primary Education, headed Toni García Arias.

Convinced that there are no infallible educational methods, Toni García and also Antonia Hernández, consider that the secret is to get as close as possible to individualized education and involve families in the educational process.

The emotional relationship established in this process is another of the most important keys to the recognition obtained, says Toni García Arias author of books on Education as "Towards a new education" (2017), "118 free ICT resources for teachers" (2017) ), "Emotional education for all" (2016) and "Manual to overcome adolescence" (2013), along with other poetry titles, compilation of articles and a novel.

Toni García Arias, will receive his Prize after 24 years of teaching career, next February 23 during the celebration of the II EDUCA 2019 World Education Congress in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia.
