The mayor receives the Lera sisters, Spanish champions of Olympic Wrestling (28/02/2019)

The Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Sports, Estíbaliz Masegosa received today in the City of San Javier the sisters Lorena and Carla Lera new champions of Spain U23 Olympic Wrestling in the national held in Madrid.

The young people of San Javier are at the top of this sport that they reached through school and base sports, belonging to the Municipal School of Olympic Struggles of San Javier, recalled the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, who highlighted the significant increase has produced in recent years young people in the municipality who get national and international titles in different sports.

Lorena and Carla Lera, 20 and 17 years old respectively, started in the children's stage with judo in extracurricular classes at the school "Ntra.

There they tried the Olympic Wrestling from the age of 12 when they started attending their first competitions.

Their next and immediate challenge takes them to travel tonight to Santiago de Compostela to participate in the Senior Spain Championship.
