The regional government has transferred a "multifunctional" vehicle to the civil protection service of San Javier, which will be used mainly for the development of the regional campaign "Civil Protection.
Self-protection, wherever you are ", carried out by the San Javier team inside and outside the municipality, focused on risk prevention and aimed at volunteers and the population in general.
The counselor of Presidency Pedro Rivera delivered today, coinciding with the International Day of Civil Protection, the keys of the vehicle, a Citroen, model Berlingo, to the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, in a symbolic act that took place in the square of Spain with the presence of the councilor for Security, Teresa Foncuberta, the general director of Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco and the people in charge of the municipal service of Civil Protection of San Javier.
Pedro Rivera, who took the opportunity to congratulate the Civil Protection Service of San Javier for its 25th anniversary this year, highlighted the importance of the pedagogical function of the campaign developed by the San Javier team through a series of tips and measures that they can be useful to the citizens in situations of emergencies in the domestic scope, or external like the mountain or beach.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo thanked the regional government for its contribution by providing means such as this vehicle to join the "great human team with which Civil Protection in San Javier has whose experience also claim from outside our municipality as in the case of this campaign".
The vehicle, in temporary assignment, will also be used in actions with especially vulnerable people or with special needs, which Civil Protection usually develops, moving them to different activities, from adapted bathroom or other issues that may arise from Social Services.
It can also be helpful in other actions of the service either Self-protection with specific groups, preventive deployments or responses to Civil Protection alerts.
