The Kings preside in San Javier the delivery of offices to the 99 new Lieutenants of the Air Force in the AGA (11/07/2019)

The Kings Don Felipe and Doña Letizia presided today the delivery of the Royal Offices to the 99 new lieutenants who have finished their studies as officers of the Air Force in the General Air Academy of San Javier, of which 62 belong to the 70th promotion of the General Corps of the Air Force and 37 to different promotions of the Corps of Intendency.

In the same act, held in the Plaza de Armas of the Academy, the Chief of the Air Staff Mr. Javier Salto Martínez-Avial led the relay of the leadership of the AGA that passes from Colonel Miguel Ivorra Ruiz to Colonel Manuel of the Girl Camúñez.

The president of the Region of Murcia acting, Fernando López Miras, the president of the Regional Assembly, Alberto Castillo, the Government delegate in Murcia Francisco Jiménez and the mayors of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and Los Alcázares Mario Cervera, as host municipalities of the Air Force, were part of the presidency of the act that was attended by numerous civil and military authorities and family and friends of the new Lieutenants who filled the Patio de Armas.

The ceremony began at eleven o'clock in the morning with the entrance of the Kings to the Plaza de Armas where King Felipe reviewed the squad of students and greeted the authorities present before the act of Thanksgiving.

After the relay of the new standard bearer of the AGA, title that Gonzalo Hernández Payo now holds, the King delivered the Royal Offices to the 5 most outstanding students of the different promotions among which was a woman, Ana Lorena Gutiérrez of the Engineers Corps.

Subsequently, the rest of the students who completed their military studies together with the Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering taught by the University Center of Defense and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, received their promotion to Lieutenants.

In his last speech as Director of the AGA, Colonel Miguel Ivorra congratulated the new officers who recalled that "the two stars of Lieutenant forces them to act with exemplary and responsibility."

"You can be proud after completing a long stage of training, a hard road not without difficulties that you have overcome with team spirit and companionship, two basic pillars of our institution that should always accompany you," said the colonel who began his speech remembering King Felipe that 30 years ago, his father King Juan Carlos I, gave him in the same yard of Arms, his Office as an officer of the Air Force.

Colonel Miguel Ivorra said goodbye with gratitude and with words of praise to all the staff of the AGA "for your commitment and dedication."

The traditional "Rompan ranks" order pronounced by the King blew the caps of the new lieutenants by air ending the act that was dismissed with an air and land parade and the tribute to the Fallen by Spain to the sound of "Death is not the end".
