The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo accompanied the Minister of Health Manuel Villegas during his visit to the Los Arcos del Mar Menor hospital to check the evolution of the effects of the rainstorm in the health center.
After the visit, the advisor Manuel Villegas explained that the flooding of the basements for the water that also affected the operating rooms has forced to suspend the scheduled surgery while certifying the total absence of risk of contamination by infection in the affected rooms.
Meanwhile, only emergency interventions will be carried out in the emergency rooms that are operative.
The storm left other minor incidents that have not affected the ordinary operation of the hospital.
On the outside of the building a wall will be reinforced that was affected by the force of the water.
The Minister of Health took the opportunity to congratulate and thank the work of the health center staff, especially the Emergency Department, which has taken turns to guarantee assistance during these days.
