Twenty-two establishments and services of the municipality receive their Distinction of Tourist Quality in Destination (29/11/2016)

The municipality of San Javier is premiered in the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination, SICTED, with the delivery of 22 quality badges that were delivered this morning by the Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Martínez And Cecilia Domínguez, a member of the regional committee of the System, establishments and tourist services of the municipality that voluntarily joined a year ago to a program that has the ultimate goal of increasing tourist satisfaction through quality.

The first establishments and professionals that will be able to present their "Tourist Quality in Destination" board are the Puerto Tomas Maestre, Pagan Apartments, Hotel El Marino, Trabuco Hotel, Trabuco Restaurant, La Obrera Pension, La Avioneta, a total of seven taxis, The Civil Protection Service of San Javier, the tourist offices of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga, and the five beaches with Quality Q, Barnuevo, Castillico, Colón, Mistral and Pedruchillo.

The Integral System of Destination Tourism Quality, SICTED, is a quality improvement project promoted by the Ministry of Tourism with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces with a view to the satisfaction of the tourist-client.

The program includes a total of 32 trades, which must develop the methodology proposed by the Secretary of State for Tourism, starting with a manual of good practices of compulsory execution, which together with participation in training and technical assistance, allow to assess and To grant, where appropriate, the quality label to the applicant establishments.

Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Martínez was satisfied with the premiere of the municipality in this Quality System, and stated that "this type of quality strategies are decisive when it comes to competing as a tourist destination."

The mayor encouraged the entire sector to get involved with this system "to continue improving day by day" and thanked the work that has developed the council team, to get the municipal badges, and the support provided to the first candidates that today collected Official recognition, which shall be revalidated each year.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo thanked the professionals present "the effort you make to improve your business because with this we are improving the quality of the municipality as a tourist destination."

Luengo said that the local administration "wants to make it easy", both with technical assistance in programs like this and with tax measures that have already been approved for the sector, which imply discounts of up to 62% in the occupation of public roads for terraces , And various tax breaks aimed at the commercial and tourist sector.

"We have to be able to see it as a whole because only then will it be a success," he concluded.
