Aidemar launches the project "No boundaries 2017" with the aim of raising the Mulhacén (26/01/2017)

Aidemar takes another step in sports and launches the project "No limits 2017", which introduces mountaineering in its sports offer for people with mental disabilities, through a program that includes climbing to a different summit Every month until arriving in July at Mulhacén, the highest peak in Spain.

Councilor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo today supported the initiative that was presented at the City Hall with the assistance of Aidemar's manager, Miguel Andreo, who recalled that Aidemar's genes are overcoming barriers, Aidemar's sports coordinator Pedro Sánchez and the president of the Chotacabras mountaineering club, Nicolás Zapata, who emphasized the "delusion" of a project in which they have been working for some time.

The project, which is also open to disabled people who do not belong to Aidemar, and to people without disabilities, has the collaboration of FEDEMIPS, Federation of Sports for Psychic Handicapped, San Javier City Council and Chotacabras mountain club, whose technicians will be To the front of each expedition.

Nicolás Zapata, with great experience as a climber, explained that the program, aimed at people accustomed to sports practice, has been designed with a progressive increase in difficulty started on Sunday 29 January, with a climb to Cabezo Gordo (312m) , Which has already registered 20 people who will travel seven kilometers.

In February, it is planned to climb the Pico Roldán of 494m;

In March the Morro Chico of 1.444m;

In April the 1,558m of Aitana;

In May it will touch Revolcadores with its 2,015m .;

In June La Sagra of 2,381m and last, in July, the great challenge of the program, the Mulhacén with its 3.478m.

The organizers warned of the difficulty that this program can produce but the challenge is to show that with effort everything can be achieved.

Pedro Sánchez, coordinator of the Athletic Club Aidemar that this year receives one of the Prizes to the local Sports, thanked the collaboration of Fedemips, to obtain insurers for each event, something in which they found a certain resistance as revealed by the manager of Aidemar, Miguel Andreo.

The ascents are not dangerous since they are hiking trails and are aimed at people accustomed to sports, with intellectual disabilities but also open to people without disabilities.
