Redexis Gas, one of the main companies dedicated to the development and operation of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines in Spain, today presented in San Javier, together with the highest representatives of the City Council, its global plan to expand and deploy network in The municipality for the coming months.

The presentation ceremony was attended by José Miguel Luengo, mayor of San Javier;

María Dolores Ruiz, councilor of Public Services;

Antonio Luengo, councilman of Urbanism and Environment;

Pedro Santos, delegate of Redexis Gas in the Region of Murcia, and Máximo Cánovas, regional director of Projects and Works of the company.

In the municipality of San Javier, Redexis Gas currently has more than 2,000 customers and with a distribution network built of 60 kilometers of pipeline.

The natural gas distribution is made through the connection with the national network of pipelines through a branch of 4 kilometers in length.

In the coming months, the company plans to extend an additional 13 kilometers of new gas pipelines and connect some 500 consumers - among citizens, industries and businesses - who will benefit from this clean and efficient source of energy thanks to an investment of More than one million euros.

Specifically, Redexis Gas has already applied for license to execute its plans this year in various districts of San Javier center (network already implemented and in service), Aviación Española and Spanish Spanish avenues until arriving at the General Air Academy (currently running) Santiago de la Ribera (in coordination with works of the City of San Javier) and in the City of the Air.

Energy efficiency

The project to extend natural gas in the municipality is possible thanks to an agreement that Redexis Gas closed in 2016 with the City of San Javier for the supply of natural gas.

The first step is to provide this service to all local sports facilities, reducing costs and improving the energy efficiency of the Town Hall.

The meeting of the municipal representatives and the directors of Redexis Gas took place in the heated pool, where in October the natural gas supply began as the first result of this agreement, which allows to save 40% in the expenditure of gas.

To that end, the company invested 25,000 euros in a 300 meter pipeline that serves the Sports Center.

For its part, the City Council made an investment of 38,437 euros in the renovation of two boilers to replace the combustion of gas oil by natural gas.

In a second phase, Redexis Gas aims to bring this source of clean energy to all facilities of the Sports Center (covered pavilion, general changing rooms, gym, cafeteria and changing rooms of soccer fields and athletics) and, progressively, the other dependencies Municipalities: nurseries, schools, day centers, etc., which will mean significant energy and economic savings, as well as a beneficial environmental impact.

This process will allow the City of San Javier to be among the most energy efficient and ecological in the Region of Murcia.
