Tomorrow the jury of the national contest of ideas for the remodeling of the Park Almansa meets whose decision will be announced next Friday (31/05/2017)

Next Friday, June 2 at 10:00 will be announced the name of the winning project in the national contest of ideas called by the City of San Javier for the complete remodeling of Almansa Park San Javier.

This was announced today by Mayor José Miguel Luengo who explained that tomorrow, June 1, the jury will be composed of eight members and a secretary from 17:00 for the opening of the 14 projects that have competed for the contest.

The jury of the competition, for which the technical support of the College of Architects of the Region of Murcia, to guarantee its transparency and diffusion, will be composed by its Dean, Rafael Pardo, two architects appointed by the board of directors of the College, A nationally renowned architect, Alfredo Payá, the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, María Dolores Martínez, the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, and the municipal engineer Antonio Sánchez.

A municipal jurist shall act as Secretary.

The jury may choose a preliminary draft winner or up to three finalists to finish with a final project that according to the rules of the contest, which was convened last March with 60 days to receive projects, has a spending limit of 3.5 millions of euros.

Accompanied by the councilor of Parks and Gardens and Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz, José Miguel Luengo pointed out the importance of this project "which aims to remodel an icon for San Javier as the Almansa Park where important events such as summer festivals, And that is intended to become a living space through a project that we want to be the one of all. "

Luengo recalled that this project is part of the DUSI San Javier Strategy, a Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy that was one of only two Strategies selected in the Region of Murcia in first call by the Ministry of Finance and Public Function and that will be Co-financed by ERDF funds amounting to EUR 4,999,144.

Likewise, the mayor stressed the importance of citizen participation in everything related to the Strategy that has been called "San Javier, a living city", and for which proposals were collected on possible actions to be included, among which was The remodeling of the Almansa Park.

In this sense informed that these days are holding a round of contacts with various associations of the municipality that focus on the park Almansa "to take into account your considerations when choosing."

The Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (FAMDIP) has also been convened, with which the City Council has an agreement, to advise and guarantee the total accessibility of the project.
