An ethnographic venue on the Huerta de Murcia and an huertana tent will contribute to the setting of the Plaza de España, the venue of the festival during the weekend

Folklore will take over the Spanish Plaza of San Javier throughout the weekend with the celebration of the XXIX Festival of Folklore in which Murcia, Granada and Slovakia groups will participate.

To the two galas of the Festival, which will be held on Friday and Saturday night, the ethnographic site dedicated to the orchard and the huertan orchard of the pebble El Perejil will be opened during the weekend in the Plaza de España, Thanks to the collaboration of the Federation of Peñas Huertas of the Region of Murcia, as well as an exhibition of ceramics of El Poveo that can be visited in the hall of the Town Hall.

Tomorrow, Friday, at 10:00 pm, the first gala will be held, such as that on Saturday by the journalist Encarna Talavera, with the participation of the group of Choral and Danzas Mar Menor, from San Javier together with the groups "La Zaranda" , Of Murcia and "Monte Arabí", of Yecla.

The San Javier Theater group will be in charge of starting the second gala of the festival, on Saturday, June 24, at 10 pm with the staging of the orchestra huertano "For looking at a torista".

The organization announced without revealing a great surprise at the start of the gala starring the local group in a night that will feature the folklore of Huéscar, Granada and with the international presence of a group from Slovakia.

On the morning of Sunday, June 25, the Festival moves to the beach of Santiago de la Ribera with a folkloric exhibition on the Barnuevo esplanade at 12: 00h in which the group of Choirs and Danzas Mar Menor de San Javier and the Group from Slovakia.

The Festival that last year left the municipal auditorium to fill the Spanish square of folklore during the weekend and open up even more to the public, pays homage to the orchard of Murcia and its traditions in which crafts and recreations are recreated from the Century XVIII until the first half of the XX century in an enclosure that has counted on the collaboration of the Federation Murcian of Peñas Huertanas and a gastronomic tent that will be open from this night of Thursday until the next Sunday from the 12:00 until the 16: 00 and from 18:30 until dawn.
