The Department of Environment uses the summer to remember on beaches the importance of recycling in health (18/07/2017)

Every six recycled plastic bottles counteract ten minutes of an exhaust pipe.

This will be the message with real and daily data that will transfer during the summer the Department of Environment of the City of San Javier through the activities it has organized at the foot of the beach in Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga, with the motto " Recycle and Breathe ".

Barnuevo Beach, in Santiago de la Ribera, inaugurated today the activity in which two monitors invite bathers to collect some waste left on the beach or that they have generated.

In exchange they are offered to participate in the game Memory Card, a game designed with wood chips reused from the furniture samples.

Participants get points redeemable for original merchandising products and used books, following the reuse line.

The main objective of the activity is to influence the actual effect that recycling has on the health and quality of the air we breathe.

The activity will arrive in La Manga del Mar Menor, on Mistral beach, where there will also be a workshop of Posidonia Oceanica, to remember that it is not an alga but an aquatic plant whose arribazones bring environmental benefits such as attenuating the effect of the waves Protecting the coastline from sand loss.

The activity to be carried out on the beaches of the municipality that have the distinctive "Q" of Quality will be repeated on August 8 in Colón beach, on August 14 in Castillico beach, in Santiago de la Ribera, and on August 22 in playa Pedruchillo, from La Manga del Mar Menor.
