The Popular parliamentary group in the Congress of Deputies, has registered a Non-Law Proposal aimed at accelerating the urban remodeling of the 'Air City', as informed by the national deputy, Isabel Borrego.
A project that is already underway and is about to give "a last push", according to the words of the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo.
We talk about the transformation of an urban urban space of 400,000 square meters in Santiago de la Ribera that has been occupied by civilians after being inhabited for more than 40 years by the families of the military linked to the Base Area of ​​San Javier.
The mayor of San Javier has claimed that at present 688 citizens live in the formally known "Julio Ruíz de Alda" colony, according to the census of last April, although between the 70s and 80 the 2,500 inhabitants were reached.
The remodeling project involves equipping this area with "adequate urban services, modernizing its infrastructures and adapting them to current standards" said the national deputy who added that this action "is favored its integration with the urban network of Santiago de Bank".
The works will be executed based on an agreement signed between the City of San Javier and the Institute of Housing, Infrastructure and Defense Equipment.
In this sense, José Miguel Luengo has advanced that has already contracted the urbanization project that are studying the technical services of the consistory.
"It is a matter of giving impetus to this action in order to provide the next General Budgets of the State with an item of 18 million euros which is necessary to undertake the transformation of this urban area," said José Miguel Luengo.
"We are facing the opportunity to transform a space near the Mar Menor and of interest for the Region of Murcia," said the councilor, in addition to contributing to the promotion of economic activity.
The national deputy, Isabel Borrego today announced the initiative together with the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the regional deputy, Mónica Meroño.
