The director general of Centers María Remedios Lajara visits San Javier at the start of the course (07/09/2017)

Maria Remedios Lajara, director general of Educational Centers, visited CEIP "Fulgencio Ruiz" in Santiago de la Ribera, accompanied by the mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Education Catalina Pérez, on the occasion of the beginning of the school year in the town.

A total of 3,400 children of Special Education, Children and Primary, a hundred less than last year, were incorporated this morning to their classes in the eight schools of the municipality, in a day that has passed normally, as confirmed by the Councilor for Education Catalina Pérez.

Accompanied by the director of the school Julia Samper and the president of the AMPA Mariano Jiménez visited the children's playground of the center that has been remodeled by the City of San Javier, to replace the previous land firm, among other improvement works.

Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo, who stressed the importance of unity in the education system to continue improving the quality of education, said that the City of San Javier, through the Department of Education, has doubled investments in centers with a total of 90,000 euros, of which 50,000 have been allocated to investments in the remodeling of the park, and renovation of windows in the "Joaquín Carrión".

In addition, a further € 40,000 has been earmarked for maintenance in painting, pruning, creating and renovating shaded areas, leaking, signaling pedestrian crossings near the centers, supplying and installing fencing, and installing gas in the kitchen of the CEIP "El Mirador", that this course inaugurates its school dining room.

María Remedios Lajara, director general of Educational Centers, thanked the work and effort that the City of San Javier is carrying out in the maintenance of centers and recalled that since the Education Ministry, more than 2 million euros have been invested in works in 37 schools in the Region.

Lajara noted other measures taken by the Ministry at this beginning of the course such as the resolution of dining scholarships before the start of the service, or the increase of English speaking assistants.

The municipal and central officials took advantage of the visit of the general manager to transfer the most important needs presented by the municipality in the different educational centers, derived mainly from the antiquity of some of them.

For secondary and high school students, the course will begin on Thursday, September 14, and Vocational Training on Thursday 21.
