The City Council of San Javier has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Friends of the Bethlehem Association whose members are already working on the absolute renewal of the monumental nativity of San Javier coinciding with the celebration of 50 years of history that meets in this edition the well-known belenistic ensemble with the nickname of "Bethlehem of Spain" for its great dimensions.
The half-century life of the Bethlehem of San Javier also deserved a deep restoration of the figures that are exposed every year during the Christmas season in the Plaza de España, a work that is being worked by the regional craftsman Jesus Griñán, advanced the councilman of Culture, David Martinez who attended the signing of the agreement, which is the municipal contribution of 2000 euros, between the mayor José Miguel Luengo and the president of the Association, Luis Riquelme.
The Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo praised and thanked the work developed by the Friends of the Belen Association with which they keep alive the beautiful tradition of our town where, in addition to assuming the artistic direction of the Bethlehem of Spain, they take care of the nativity scene in Santiago the Ribera, the Belén de la Marquesa, in the Town Hall, and the Grajuela.
In addition, the Friends of the Bethlehem Association organizes an annual exhibition each Christmas with the Parish Museum, as well as various actions that dynamize the nativity scenes and the Christmas spirit in the municipality.
