The Museum hosts the photo exhibition "The signs of the hand" of the collective "The Stolen Hand" (06/11/2017)

The collective "The Stolen Hand" exhibits in the Museum of San Javier a photographic series in which under the title "The signs of the hand", shows the result of a study on how art has reflected the hand throughout the history and the meaning associated with that way of representing it.

The conclusions are specified in five representations of the hands in art, reproduced in large-sized photographs, with the hand gripping the wrist, crossed over the chest, in an eloquent gesture, hidden or covered and carrying an object.

The exhibition allows the viewer to see on a screen the creative process of the works, reflect and even write interpreting the meanings building their own history of each of the photographs.

The councilman of Culture David Martinez accompanied by the mayor Maria Dolores Ruiz inaugurated the exhibition, included in the Plan of Exhibition Spaces promoted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia through the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA) with the goal of bringing art to the citizens and to support Murcian artists.

"The Stolen Hand" is a creative collective formed in 2011 by Marta López, Laura Mayol, Adoración Martínez, Judit Mínguez and Juan Ignacio Rico that emerged in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Murcia.

The group focuses its activity on photography and other artistic practices.

They have obtained various scholarships and have participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and in workshops and conferences.
