City Council renews collaboration agreement with Mar Menor Choirs and Dances that will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018 (13/11/2017)

The San Javier City Council will continue to support the Mar Menor Choirs and Dance group of San Javier, one of the oldest associations in the municipality, with which it has just renewed a collaboration agreement signed by Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the president of the Folklore group, Salvador Carrasco, and that will mean a municipal contribution of 3000 euros to the dance group.

After signing the agreement, Salvador Carrasco informed the mayor of San Javier about the preparations that are being made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the group next year, among which the gathering of all its components since the group was created, stands out. promoted half a century ago by the parish priest D. Antonio López, in the next edition of the Folklore Festival of San Javier.

The group of Mar Menor Choirs and Dances, of San Javier currently has a dance corps of 40 adults and 20 children and maintains a free school to which this year they have added about 20 children "that guarantee the continuity of the group "

The School operates one day a week and is open to new enrollments throughout the course.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo highlighted the importance of the group for the municipality where he has actively participated for over 50 years, as well as parties and events, as well as the Folklore Festival in which he is the host.

The huertano band that will be held soon in the festivities, the Bethlehem route and Christmas performances, will be the next appointments of folkloric training.
