An AFAL exhibition shows the evolution and different incidence of Alzheimer's and other dementias, in the San Javier library (29/11/2017)

The San Javier Library is hosting an informative exhibition on the incidence and evolution of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia through the work done in different therapies by patients of AFAL, Association of Relatives and Alzheimer's Disease of Cartagena and Region.

The Councilman of Culture David Martinez and the Councilor for Social Services Estibaliza Masegosa visited the show accompanied by Raúl Nieto, manager of AFAL who explained that the exhibition allows to appreciate the cognitive differences between an incipient or advanced dementia as well as between the different types of dementias like Alzheimer's or fronto-temporal.

The exhibition also aims to raise awareness about the disease and especially to publicize the daily work that is carried out from AFAL, which has its county seat in Santiago de la Ribera, with therapies and work that can alleviate the progress of the disease and improve its quality of life.

The Councilor for Culture David Martinez thanked AFAL for having brought the exhibition to the exhibition space with which the municipal library has for the community to show and disseminate both artistic and informative work, as is the case of this exhibition that also reminds us that not everything is lost and there are therapies and jobs that can help slow down the evolution of the disease.

The sample can be seen in the glass corridors on the ground floor of the library.

AFAL has a headquarters on the first floor of the Senior Center of Santiago de la Ribera where anyone interested in contacting them can go in the morning, from Monday to Friday.
