The Italian magazine "ISKULTONE" highlights the work on Sardinia by the young artist of San Javier, Andrés M. García (27/02/2018)

The young artist of San Javier Andrés Manuel García Romero, "Andrés Garó", whose work has been seen in the emerging art festival "Imagina" (2016) and in an exhibition in the library of San Javier (2017), continues its artistic and professional evolution in Sardinia, Italy, where he currently serves as tutor of the sculpture workshop at the Academia di Belle Arti Mario Sironi.

Impregnado by the magic of Sardinia, Andrés has combined his work as a teacher with the artistic creation shaping a set of large-scale works gathered under the title of "Natura Sarda", which has earned the praise of the prestigious Italian digital magazine " ISKULTONE ", where the work of Sanjaviereño artist stands out.

Andrés Manuel García, who arrived in Sardinia in November 2017, with an Erasmus + internship for recent graduates, set out to introduce himself to the essence of the island, beyond his tourism profile, and to contribute the vision of a foreigner on the roots of the island through which all the cultures of the Mediterranean have passed, since prehistory.

Its objective is to provide the Sardinians with the artistic vision of a foreigner on the island with a project that also aims to show the Spaniards another lesser-known face.

Andrés Manuel García studied artistic baccalaureate at the IES "Ruiz de Alda" in San Javier, in 2012, where he went to the School of Art of Murcia to study sculptural techniques.

In the second year he received an Erasmus + scholarship that allowed him to study for six months at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, in Naples, Italy where he imbibed the important collections of Roman sculpture that houses the "Archaeological Museum Nazioinale di Napoli".

On his return he completed his studies and continued to create, participated in Imagina, exhibited in the library and was selected by the Léucade gallery to participate in a national collective exhibition of emerging artists.

The councilman of Culture David Martinez has congratulated Andrés Manuel García who has highlighted his effort to evolve as an artist inside and outside of Spain and has invited him to organize a large exhibition on his return with which he can show his latest work to the neighbors of San Javier.

Martinez stressed the importance of "our young people being trained and stand out in the different fields they choose and that their effort be recognized in their people."
