The Department of Youth calls a safe driving course for motorcycles and mopeds (15/03/2018)

Improving safety when driving a motorcycle or a moped, especially among young people, is the objective of the Safe Driving Course that this morning was presented by the Councilor for Youth, Estíbaliz Masegosa accompanied by the director of the MAC Driving School , Miguel Ángel Castilla, and a member of his team, Víctor García.

The course, which will be held on Saturday, April 14 at the premises of the Road Safety Park of San Javier at 09:30, consists of a theoretical part and a practical part in which special emphasis will be placed on defensive driving, the use of of brakes or the avoidance of obstacles, among other exercises that will reproduce a real driving scenario.

The course is especially aimed at people aged 15 and over who use this type of vehicle for their usual journeys on urban and interurban roads.

The motorcycle or the moped is an agile but also fragile means, said Víctor García, whose first contact with the school was as a student, so now as a technician it is of special help for the drivers who come to the course with the intention of learning and acquire knowledge and skills that allow you to drive with greater security for your physical integrity.

The head of the School, Miguel Ángel Castilla, former professional speed driver in the 250cc class and teacher of Road Safety since 1998, highlighted the experience of his School that has been running for 23 years, to provide each driver according to his age and needs the knowledge and practices to drive not by intuition, as it happens in most cases, but in a more rational way.

The Councilor for Youth, Estíbaliz Masegosa encouraged all those young people who use the motorcycle or a moped as a means of transport to participate in the safe driving course, which has also involved the Local Police and the Department of Celebrations.

To do this, the City subsidizes 50 percent of the total amounting to 40 euros, so the registration fee will be 20 euros.

Registration can be done through www.juventudsanjavier.es Participants will complete the course with their own vehicle.
