La Grajuela opens a Hiker's Shelter coinciding with its festivities (26/04/2018)

An old school bus stop built with brick on a rural road has been converted into a Refugio del Senderista in the agricultural hamlet of La Grajuela where for four years the Ruta "Camina por La Grajuela con Santos" has been celebrated, coinciding with its patron saint festivities that the next days are celebrated in honor of their patron saint the Virgin of Fatima.

La Grajuela, which is the hamlet with the largest area of the municipality although the least populated, has been proposed to incentivize hiking with a route in which they collect their about 30 farmhouses scattered among agricultural fields, said today the mayoress pedáneo and councilor of the City Council of San Javier, Catalina Pérez.

The refuge, which offers shelter from the sun, wind or rain, depending on the season, has a running bench and has been decorated with mural painting on its exterior and interior walls by local painter David Murcia, as well as with a map of the hamlet with the location of each of the hamlets that include protected elements such as the Aljibe Largo.

El Refugio del Senderista has been the place chosen to present this morning the program of the patron festivities of La Grajuela in an event that was attended by Catalina Pérez, the councilman of Celebrations, Pedro López, the mayor, neighbor of La Grajuela, Sergio Martínez and a group of neighbors involved in the recovery of the old school bus stop.
