Environment and driving Ecovidrio glass recycling in the hospitality of the town (23/01/2014)

The Department of Environment and Ecovidrio, the nonprofit association that manages the recycling of glass containers in the town, collaborating on a campaign aimed at catering establishments in the municipality which aims to facilitate the collection and recycling of packaging generated in their premises.

Councillor for the Environment, Celia Martinez and Levante manager for Ecovidrio, Roberto Fuentes presented this morning in the city of San Javier, the campaign will begin next week and will reach about 100 bars and restaurants around the town.

Celia Martinez explained that the campaign will begin with an informative first phase includes a survey to identify needs which can provide hoteliers waste recycling.

To all of them, will be offered free of charge, a cube with Ale-hop system that facilitates the storage, transport and disposal of waste in glass containers installed on public roads.

The new system requires no effort and prevents residue manipulated as after rises fit the container with a foot pedal reaching a pivoting axis on facilitating its emptying.

The representative of Ecovidrio, Roberto Fuentes, stressed the convenience, security and better hygiene as advantages of a system that will enhance good figures and throws the town of San Javier as glass recycler.

San Javier exceeds the national average in recycling glass

Roberto Fuentes reported that during 2013 in San Javier a total of 722 tons of glass collected for recycling, which means that every citizen in a container placed an average of 22 kilos per year, a figure that exceeds the national average, expected similar to the previous year, which stood at 15 kilos per person.

According added Roberto Fuentes, San Javier also highlighted in the media container available in public because it has 1 container per 150 inhabitants, compared to the national average of 1 container per 250 inhabitants, a situation that justifies the floating population a tourist town like San Javier said Fuentes.
