The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García, secretary general of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Francisco Moreno, Councillor for the Environment, José Luis Espinosa, and the mall manager Dos Mares, Jorge Revuelta, presented this morning exposure Photo "Biodiversity in the Mar Menor" which can be visited in one of the places inside the mall until 15 June.
The exhibition is part of the citywide program to celebrate the World Environment Day is organized by the Cluster Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Environment and the Dos Mares shopping mall.
The exhibition of twenty images captured by the photographer, naturalist William Labarga different species of insects and birds as well as a landscape, photographed in the environment of the Mar Menor.
Flamenco, the gull picofina, dandelion, or gamoncillo are some animal and plant species that can be seen in this exhibition motivated by the celebration of International Biodiversity Day which is dedicated to World Environment Day Environment to be held on Saturday 5 June.
The secretary general of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, and Cluster Foundation president, Francisco Moreno stressed the importance of the Mar Menor in species diversity are also listed as vulnerable.
According to Moreno "in Europe, mean species of flora and fauna listed as vulnerable is 24 percent, while in the area of the Mar Menor is located at 43 percent."
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García, who emphasized the beauty of the images that complement the exhibition, noted that "despite the detractors who had the Mar Menor, now comes a message of hope for the future" because of all the national figures and international protection have been adopted on the gap "that has a rich but vulnerable we all need to preserve biodiversity"
