An exhibition on the mili is added to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the AGA (08/05/2018)

The thousands of anonymous young people who fulfilled their obligatory military service in the General Air Academy are the protagonists of a historical period of the military institution that will be reflected in the exhibition that on the mili in the AGA can be visited in the Municipal Museum of San Javier from May 15 to June 10 next.

The councilman of Culture, David Martinez and the president of the association Friends of Museums, Marcos Gracía presented today at the City of San Javier the exhibition organized by the aforementioned association with the collaboration of the City of San Javier and the AGA itself, as a reason of the 75th anniversary of the Academy where officers of the Air Force are trained.

Marcos Gracia highlighted the response obtained in the public appeal to the people who made the mili in the AGA for the contribution of any document or witness object of that time, arrived not only from the region but also from other points of the Region and Spain .

"They are people who have lent their most intimate and intimate memories of a stage of their lives to put them at the service of others," said Marcos Gracia.

The exhibition, which will have several sections, recreates the typical litter and ticket office, which in those days became the home of the soldiers.

The swearing of the flag will have its own section as a stellar moment of the mili in an exhibition in which there will be photos, documents, shirts signed by the comrades, and objects that also recreate social life, like the typical dolls with military clothing that the soldiers carried souvenirs, and even crafts they did in their spare time.

The exhibition, which also includes personal experiences collected in a small documentary, will be complemented by the itinerant exhibition "Lifting the Flight" that the AGA has assembled on the occasion of its 75th anniversary, which summarizes the physical and human history of the AGA reflecting its military activity from its origins to the present day.

The Councilor for Culture, David Martinez praised the work of the Friends of Museums Association and expressed his satisfaction for having been able to collaborate with this project that adds to the celebration in our town of the 75th anniversary of the AGA and in which the real protagonists They are the donors of the material collected by the exhibition, to which they thanked their generosity.

Martínez invited the neighbors to visit the exhibition that will open on Tuesday, May 15 at 8:30 p.m. and will continue until the weekend of open doors and international air festival organized by the AGA on June 9 and 10.
