San Javier joins World Environment Day against plastic pollution (05/06/2018)

The pollution by the plastic protagonizes east year the World Day of the Environment to which the Town hall of San Javier has been added with a program of activities in which Primary students of the municipality have participated.

The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, accompanied by the councilor of Multiple Services, María Dolores Ruiz, read this morning a manifesto "in a day that we take advantage of to influence social awareness of the need to preserve the environment."

The City of San Javier has made special emphasis today on recycling taking advantage of the fact that plastic is one of the reusable waste.

The mayor recalled that in San Javier the collection of plastic has increased by 14% in the last year compared to the previous and noted both the measures promoted by the councils of Environment and Public Services to encourage the recycling of waste as the growing social awareness about.

The youngest are still the priority objective of this type of campaign.

After reading the manifesto, a group of environmental monitors as well as Abraham Project have carried out activities with children in which the subject of recycling, use and preservation of the environment have worked in a playful way.
