The Sicarm'18 technology fair opens its doors to the public in San Javier during the weekend (15/06/2018)

San Javier welcomes throughout the weekend a new edition of the annual forum of the Information Society Region of Mucia (SICARM) with a technology fair open to the public in which the latest advances in new technologies, information technology are shown in a practical way and telecommunications through nine interactive workshops.

The mayor José Miguel Luengo, the councilor of New Technologies, David Martínez and the general director of Information Technology, Heritage and Telecommunications, Juan José Almela inaugurated this morning the technology fair located in the pavilion "María Teresa López" of the IES "Ruiz de Alda" for which this morning hundreds of students of the municipality have passed.

José Miguel Luengo stressed the importance of having in San Javier with this event "that brings new technologies to the citizen" and stressed the importance of technological advances "that are increasingly being implemented in our society and with which we have to be familiar "

He also stressed that among the workshops offered include one on the safe and responsible use of the Internet.

The public that visits the fair will be a novelty with an aerodrome where you can fly drones, virtual reality and augmented reality stands, 3D printing and robotics.

Visitors can even create last generation drones, program them and fly them on a circuit.

Other workshops will show how robots are built and programmed, or how to apply the latest augmented reality devices to Education.

Among the possibilities that the fair opens is to be able to discover the heritage of the Region of Murcia through virtual reality with the last immersive game developed by the Integra Foundation on the Roman Theater of Cartagena.

The general director of Information Technology, Heritage and Telecommunications, Juan José Almela pointed out the effort of the regional government with this forum that celebrates its eighteenth edition and with which it tries to reach the different municipalities of the Region to fight against the digital divide.

Almela pointed out that this initiative also contributes to awakening or consolidating the interest of young people in science.

Access to the Fair is free and will be open to the public today, Friday, June 15, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

On Saturday June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
