The Air Force has today with 111 new officers after the delivery of offices held at the General Air Academy of San Javier (17/07/2018)

A total of 111 new officers of the Air Force, 15 more than last year, have collected this morning the Royal Lieutenant Offices in the General Air Academy in an act that was chaired by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Javier Salto Martínez-Avial.

Of the students graduated today, among whom there were 14 women, 74 correspond to the 69th promotion of the General Corps of the Air Force and the rest to different promotions of the Corps of Intendency and Engineers.

The act of Delivery of Offices, which every year marks a milestone in the daily life of the AGA, was attended by the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Alejo de la Torre de la Calle, the government delegate in Murcia, Diego Conesa, the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver and the mayors of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida, as representatives of host municipalities of the Air Force , along with other civil and military authorities, as well as relatives of the new officers who filled the Plaza de Armas.

The event began with a review of the participating forces by the Chief of the Air Force Staff, Javier Salto Martínez-Avial, accompanied by the AGA's colonel director, Miguel Ivorra, and an act of thanksgiving for the Vicar. Episcopal of the Air Force, Miguel Ángel García Arteaga.

After the relay of the new standard bearer of the AGA, title that fell to the Alférez Alumnus Rafael of Carlos Alonso, the general Javier Salto Martínez-Avial delivered the Despachos and decorated the students n ° 1 of the different participating promotions.

Colonel Miguel Ivorra, addressed the new officers, for the first time as head of the AGA, "in a year full of symbolism" for the 175th anniversary celebrated this year by the Academy where officers of the Air Force are trained.

The colonel encouraged the new Lieutenants to "always bear in mind the illusion of the first day" in the military career that they are already beginning to "display courage in the face of adversity".

Colonel Miguel Ivorra invited them to "learn to obey to command, having clear that to command is to serve".

He was also convinced that the new officers are "ready to face their future" and invited them to maintain the values ​​of "loyalty, discipline, dedication, spirit of sacrifice and camaraderie" that characterize "the great military family of which you are part ".

After the speech of the colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Ivorra, the chief of the General Staff of the Air Force, Javier Salto Martínez-Avial was in charge of pronouncing the famous "rompan filas" followed by the traditional throwing of caps into the air by part of the students already converted into Lieutenants.

Later a terrestrial parade was celebrated, presided by the authorities, before the tribute to the Fallen by Spain to the sound of "The death is not the end".
