The Eagle Patrol and the 7th Cauldron Day are the protagonists of the Day of the Patron, who is going through the streets of Santiago de la Ribera this afternoon in procession (25/07/2018)

The president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras and his full Government Council, today joined the celebration of the big day of the patron saint festivities of Santiago de la Ribera that began with the traditional exhibition of the Eagle Patrol followed by the VII Day of the Cauldron.

The festivity of Santiago Apóstol will end with the Mass in honor of the Patrón, at 8:00 p.m., and the procession with the image of Santiago Apóstol interrupted by a fireworks display and a festival in the Barnuevo esplanade.

The Patrulla Águila starred once again on the morning of Santiago with an exhibition that was seen by thousands of people from the beaches of the town.

Led by the Sanjaviteño commander Rubén Pérez, the Patrol returned to surprise young and old with their impossible acrobatics in a sky that today dawned covered but that has not detracted from the exhibition in which, together with the inverted looping, mirror, barrel or its showy training breaks, the Patrol redrew the flag of Spain.

Once the exhibition was over, the pilots of the Patrol went to the terrace of the Yacht Club where they were received with applause from the public, among which were the queens and ladies of the patron saint festivities and congratulated by the president Fernando López Miras, the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Ivorra, preacher in this edition of the parties that have wanted to join the 75th anniversary of the AGA.

The other focus of the morning was at the Barnuevo beach where the 7th Cauldron Day was celebrated with the preparation in the traditional way of a real cauldron cooked in the sand of the beach with the help of a gray tripod, with wood and a cauldron of iron.

Fishermen and experienced cooks of the cauldron have been in charge of cooking in the eyes of the public that an hour before queued to taste the king plate of the Mar Menor, whose origin is related to the survival of fishermen who spent days without returning home and They used part of the fishing to cook a simple dish of rice.

Hundreds of people, including the president and the councilors of his Government have been able to taste the cauldron accompanied by a Estrella de Levante beer, in honor of the Patron.
