The general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports, José Ramón Díez de Revenga advanced that the new free Wi-Fi service on the beach, which has also been installed in Cala del Pino, in the municipality of Cartagena, will be analyzed during the next two months to know the real demand before extending it to the rest of the beaches and move forward in the "Smart beach" project, which will allow the user to consult cultural and commercial offer, reserve hammocks, restaurants or learn real-time data on water quality with their telephone mobile while enjoying the beach.

The Councilor for Tourism and Beaches of San Javier, Antonio Martinez highlighted the commitment of the regional government to advance technological progress and noted that the installation of free Wi-Fi on the beach should be seen as a step in the quality management that contributes to meet the needs of the visitor as well as their loyalty.

The general director José Ramón Díez de Revenga said that the smart beach project is part of the 365 Strategy, which will involve a total investment of more than 18 million euros, whose objective is to improve the quality of life of residents and visitors of La Manga del Mar Menor, through four lines of action such as the improvement of living spaces, improvement of mobility, urban services and the environment, and through the use of technology.
