Civil Protection of San Javier incorporates two electric scooters adapted with first aid material (27/08/2018)

The service of Civil Protection in beaches has incorporated two electric scooters that facilitate the fast displacements in crowded areas and improve the assistance in cases of emergency.

The scooters have been adapted to the needs of the service with two saddlebags containing first aid material, with priority light and an acoustic siren of limited power to break through pedestrians.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Security, Teresa Foncuberta presented this morning this new resource, a pioneer in the Region, patented and manufactured by the local company "SIPP Bike".

Its manufacturer, José Morales highlighted the sustainable nature of the scooters that have an autonomy of 50 kilometers, with a maximum speed of 25km / h. Vehicles require only one point of light of 220W for recharge that takes no more than 3 or 4 hours.

The scooters will be used by two coordinators of the service as a means of fast and ecological transportation that will allow them to arrive in a few minutes to any of the surveillance posts that mark the seafront or to the point where they are required.

It is also planned to be used in any Predictable Risk device that is deployed throughout the year on the occasion of social, cultural and sports events.

The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, highlighted the effort that the City of San Javier continues to make to improve the safety of our beaches "that already have the longest surveillance and attention period in the Region of Murcia, from June 1 to September 30. September".

Luengo stressed the importance of continuing to innovate and improving the material means available to the service that highlighted the human resources with a large team of professional lifeguards.

The Mayor of San Javier, José Migue Luengo, also highlighted the fact that the scooters were built in San Javier by a company of the municipality "so at the same time we are supporting local entrepreneurship", and he was sure of the success of this means of ecological transport "that will be able to go incorporating to other services of the City council".
