The workshops of the Department of Culture this week begin classes with a high level of enrollment in the three disciplines that are taught: theater, dance and painting.
The councilman of Culture, David Martinez met with professors María Dolores Martínez, of dance;
Judith Arteaga, of theater, Remedios Ruiz, of painting just before the beginning of the course that will last until June of 2019.
Martinez highlighted the success of these workshops for which there are only a few available seats and reiterated the commitment of his council for "this type of training activities that complement an integral education of our children, youth and adults in the knowledge of artistic disciplines such as painting, dance or theater that have so much presence in our town. "
The theater workshop, which is taught in the Multiple Uses building, has children's groups, prejuvenil, and adults who participate in "very practical and playful" classes, explains professor Judtih Arteaga who recommends the practice of theater for its multiple benefits such as improving memory, self-esteem and empathy, among many others.
The dance workshop, which like the rest is taught two days a week, takes place in the facilities of the Conservatory of Music and has multiple groups divided by age from three years, explains the teacher María Dolores Martínez, who announced that the The workshop has once again been selected by the Disney Performing Arts, which will take them to Disney Park in Paris, next December.
For years, Professor Remedios Ruiz has been teaching the painting workshop that last year had more than 90 students between 3 and 89 years old, which takes place in the San Javier Museum and also in El Mirador with students of various ages
The course includes a specialization in some of the techniques chosen each year and is dismissed with a collective exhibition in which the students show their own works.
