Christmas story in San Javier (12/12/2018)

The City of San Javier has programmed more than one hundred activities in a Christmas program with which children and adults can relive the purest Christmas tradition with the world of stories as allies.

This was announced today by the Councilor for Culture David Martinez, who together with the Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, presented the Christmas program San Javier 2018, in the church of the Salzillo Museum, in Murcia, in an act in which the president participated. of the Museum, Antonio Gómez Fayrén, its director, Teresa Marín and the general director of the Institute for Cultural Industries and the Arts, Marta López-Briones.

The program that started with the arrival of Santa Claus and the inauguration of the Belén Marinero, of Santiago de la Ribera last weekend, continues next Friday with the opening of the Bethlehem of Playmobil in the Municipal Museum where you can visit up to 6 from January.

The General Director of Cultural Assets of the CARM, Juan Antonio Lorca, will announce Christmas on Saturday, December 15 at 8:30 pm at the Church of San Javier, where the exhibition "Belenes con Historia" will be inaugurated with pieces from the main workshops of the Region of Murcia, Andalusia, Madrid and Barcelona.

Subsequently the Bethlehem de la Marquesa will be inaugurated in the hall of the City Hall.

The "Bethlehem of Spain", one of the biggest outdoor belenistic ensembles in Europe, will be a year more protagonist in these dates in which it attracts thousands of visitors.

The 50 years of life that the nativity scene that was exhibited in the Plaza de España last year, has deserved a work of historical recovery, in a book written by the Murcian historian Isabel Durante that will be presented on the fourth of January.

The "Bethlehem of Spain", which will open on Friday, December 21, will shine this year in all its splendor after the complete restoration of its figures as it was seen today during the presentation of the Christmas program with the exhibition of the whole of the Nativity restored by its author, the craftsman Jesus Griñán, who attended the event in which the new Magi were also shown this year in the nativity scene.

The Christmas season, which extends to all districts of the municipality, focuses especially on children with shows such as the children's musical "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" on December 23, or the Christmas special Christmas musical Disney.

A program of clay workshops, Christmas decorations, paint t-shirts, plasticine nativity scenes, paint backpacks, modeling clay, or Christmas cards, among others, give an appeal to the children's offer that includes magic shows with Guillerme Avilés, or "The Tree of the Tales "where a fairy resides who will invite the children to participate in recreational activities that will be held free of charge in public spaces.

With a great belenística tradition the municipality will offer a route of cribs that includes the Bethlehem of Spain, the one of the Marquesa, the exhibition "Belenes con historia", the nativity scene of Playmobil, the crèche of the Centro Comercial Dos Mares, the Sailor, of Santiago de la Ribera, and the nativity scenes of El Mirador, La Grajuela and Galerías El Flamenco, in La Manga.

Failing to specify the date, a bus trip will be organized to tour them all in the company of the Mar Menor Choir and Dance Group that was also present today at the Salzillo Museum.

Music is also an important part of the program that features the organist Carlos Rafael Pérez, who will sound the organ of the San Javier temple during the Christmas proclamation.

Christmas concerts with choirs, choirs, the San Javier Symphonic Band, or Los Parrandboleros, will play Christmas music for a program that ends with the Reyes night, recalled the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, who invited the audience to "witness, at least one once the magical night that lives in San Javier on the eve of Reyes ".

The Three Wise Men will arrive by boat to Santiago de la Ribera to start a cavalcade at the end of which they will perform a triumphal entry into the Plaza de España, with a great spectacle of light, sound and fireworks.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo highlighted the importance of Christmas in the municipality with the Bethlehem of Spain as "one of our hallmarks."

Luengo highlighted the quality and variety of the program of activities with which Christmas in San Javier will be even more special.
