Four out of every 10 children living in the Region of Murcia are at risk of poverty or social exclusion, that is, 39.3% of the total child population, according to the AROPE indicator

For the third consecutive year, Dos Mares dedicates the Christmas season to helping minors in an unfavorable situation with the aim of fulfilling the wishes of 80 children.

The 'Make a Wish' initiative is developed by the delegation of Santiago de la Ribera de Cáritas.

The action will be active from December 20 until January 2 in the Shopping Center.

Four out of every 10 children living in the Region of Murcia are at risk of poverty or social exclusion, that is, 39.3% of the total child population, according to the AROPE indicator.

At this time of the year, which encourages collaboration and solidarity, Dos Mares joins for the third time with Cáritas (Santiago de la Ribera), to fulfill the wish of 80 children in an unfavorable situation of the families with whom they usually work.

In this way they will be able to enjoy the fundamental right to play and have fun, included in article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

To achieve this, Dos Mares has launched the 'Make a wish' initiative, through which they intend to involve the entire local community.

The dynamic is very simple and has some indispensable protagonists: visitors to the Shopping Center.

Customers will find personalized cards on the Christmas tree with the name of each child they can help and the gift they have chosen for the Magi.

It will be the citizens themselves who buy that Christmas detail so that, finally, Cáritas can deliver it.

Thanks to this initiative, no child in the area of influence of Mar Menor will be left without a gift on Three Kings Day.

"The children need to play and have fun, it is fundamental for their education and development, and we are very grateful for the help offered by Dos Mares to make these Christmases as special for these 80 children as for the rest," says José María Cervantes, Representative of the delegation of Santiago de la Ribera de Cáritas.

With this solidarity action, Dos Mares puts the finishing touch to a year of marked commitment to society through different projects and social campaigns such as 'Cuida tu corazón', which included the participation of actress María Castro and whose objective was to prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and the project 'The Invisibles' that, with the help of the Foundation created by Paco Lobatón, Who Knows Where, contributed to the visibility and awareness on the problem of the disappearances of people over 65. "Dos Mares He has a great responsibility and commitment to the local community and society in general, and we hope that our contribution through these initiatives will help those groups in the region that need it, "said Jorge Revuelto, Director of Dos Mares.

The visitors of the Shopping Center will be able to join this cause and collaborate with the purchase of the gifts from December 20 until January 2, 2019. Later, Cáritas will take care of the official delivery to the children so that they can enjoy the gifts on Three Kings Day.
