Sin Límites 2019 includes six summits of more than 1000 meters in the Region of Murcia (07/02/2019)

Aidemar and the club Chotacabras have launched, for the third year in a row, the project "Sin Límites 2019", an inclusive sport initiative that proposes the climb to six summits of more than 1000 meters of the Region of Murcia between March and June , to people with and without intellectual disability under equal conditions.

The Councilor for Sports, Estibaliza Masegosa and the Director General of Sports, Alonso Gómez, accompanied the managing director of Aidemar, MIguuel Andreu, and the people in charge of the project, Pedro Martínez of the Aidemar Sports Club and Nico Zapata of the Chotacabras mountain club, in the presentation of this initiative "pioneer in Spain", according to José Zomeño, president of the Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities of the Region of Murcia (Fedemips) who also attended the event held at the City of San Javier.

Sin Límites 2019 begins on March 3 with a climb to Morrón Chico, in Sierra Espuña and includes the Sierra de Carrascoy in April, the Sierra de la Pila in May, and Revolcadores and Bishops in June.

After a break during the summer, in September the activity is resumed with an ascent to the Sierra del Carche, ending in October with La Selva through the Barranco de Mula.

In total 100 kilometers and 4870 meters of positive height gain will be covered.

Nico Zapata explained that from the club Chotacabras all routes have been studied in depth to prevent any incident.

The participants will have prior information to each of the routes to know what they are facing.

The maximum number of seats will be 55 people with 30 percent reserved for people with intellectual disabilities, a figure that is increasing and which aims to reach up to 50 percent in future editions, said Pedro Martinez, who underlined the success of the project in the two previous editions.

Registration will open next Monday, February 11 on the social networks of Aidemar and Club Chotacabras.

Councilor for Sports, Estibaliza Masegosa praised the initiative "that integrates through sports" and thanked the organizers and collaborators for making it possible for the third year.

Also the general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez highlighted "the importance of inclusive sports".

The choice of the mountain makes it a "pioneer in Spain" initiative, said José Zomeño de Fedemips, who highlighted the experience of the Aidemar Sports Club.

The managing director of Aidemar, Miguel Andreu, thanked the collaboration of the club Chotacabras, technical managers of the project, and the collaboration and support of the City of San Javier, Fedemips, the Murcia Athletics Federation, and Decathlon.
