The Summer School organized by the Municipal Social Services Center has covered a total of 306 places for the four fortnights of July and August with children between 3 and 12 years of age who come from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to the headquarters of the School in the schools "Joaquín Carrión", of San Javier;
"Fulgencio Ruiz", from Santiago de la Ribera and CEIP El Mirador, in El Mirador.
Councilor for Social Rights, Estíbaliz Masegosa visited the Joaquín Carrión Valverde school in San Javier this morning at the beginning of the second half of July.
Masegosa pointed out the good functioning of the Summer School, which also offers the morning and dining room, in which the inclusion of children with functional diversity or special educational needs is actively worked on.
Masegosa explained that the Summer School has seven instructors who have joined other three specialized support, with the collaboration of the Rafa Can Foundation, "to work inclusion not only in children with special needs but also with the rest so that they experience it with normality and as an enriching experience ".
The children, some of whom repeat in more than a fortnight, have fun this year as "Explorers in time", traveling to the past and the future through different activities such as plastic crafts, alternative sports, water parties, cooking, film, dance, theater, and literature sessions, creating a multicultural and creative environment in which children enrich themselves by having fun.
The children, who this morning carried out a simulation of paintball with cubes, celebrate the end of the fortnight with a day of family coexistence and an excursion with destinations such as the Museum of the Sea;
Museum of the Baron de Benifayó;
Los Alcázares Aeronautical Museum, or an excursion through the Mar Menor to La Manga for what they have volunteered with Banco del Tiempo.
The mayor Estíbaliz Masegosa highlighted the quality of the School in which everything is designed so that children have fun and learn in a transversal way taking advantage of summer vacations, while offering an alternative for family reconciliation.
