A total of twelve productions compete this year for the Azahar Awards for the Performing Arts 2019 of the Region of Murcia.
This was announced yesterday by the president of the Association, Oscar Molina, and the coordinator of the gala, José Carlos Ruiz, during a press conference held in San Javier in the framework of the 50th International Festival of Theater, Music and Dance, to which The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez Gómez and various representatives of the sector associations such as UARM, DREM and DEmurcia, as well as others from MurciaaEscena, also attended.
MurciaaEscena, the Association of Performing Arts Production Companies of the Region of Murcia, already has the nominees for the Azahar Awards for the Performing Arts of the Region of Murcia 2019. The productions that have participated are: 'Enrique IV' and 'Advertisers ', from Theater of Delivery;
'Extinction' and 'Puss in Boots' by JO!
Productions;
'The moon in the garden', by Teatro Silfo;
'The Lady and the Tramp.
El musical ', by El Molino Producciones;
'Bohemios', of the Spanish Lyric Company;
'Talk to me' of Alquibla Teatro, 'Homemade recipes' and 'Twins' of Teatro Small Theater of Delivery;
'The secret of the Fairies, The musical', by Monís Producciones;
and 'The fault of everything is War Disne, and?, of Trama Teatro.
'Enrique IV' with sixteen nominations, 'Puss in boots' with eleven and Extinction with nine stand out from the other productions in number of nominations.
In the main categories 'The moon in the garden' accompanies 'Enrique IV' and 'Extinction' in the category of Best Theater Show.
As for Scenic Direction, the nominees are Luisma Soriano for 'Extinction', José Bote for 'Enrique IV' and Óscar Molina and Jesús García for 'Puss in Boots'.
The Best Murcia Authorship will be played by Luisma Soriano for 'Extinction', Fulgencio M. Lax for 'Talk to Me' and Javier Ruano for 'Homemade Recipes'.
Eva Torres by Matilde de Ahumada in 'Enrique IV', Verónica Bermúdez in 'Extinción' and Isa Costa in 'Extinción' will compete for the Best Actress award and Luis Martínez Arasa for Enrique IV in 'Enrique IV', David Terol in 'Extinción 'and Nico Andreo for Advertiser 3 in' Advertisers' will do it for Best Actor
The best children's shows, musical, version, adaptation and / or dramaturgy, production, actress and supporting actor, original music, sound space, scenery, lighting and costumes are also rewarded.
Voting
The voting process has been anonymous and has taken place by email from the SURVEYMONKEY platform.
Thus, for the selection of the nominees, those accredited to the Azahar Awards have exercised their vote;
those associated with MurciaaEscena (production and stage directors, dramatists, musicians, actors, actresses, stage designers, costumes, lighting and technicians);
the partners of the Union of Actors of the Region of Murcia (UARM);
the Association of Playwrights of the Region of Murcia (DREM);
the partners of the recently created Association of Directors of the Region of Murcia (DEmurcia);
and a number of professionals not belonging to any of the four associations mentioned, whose votes are considered essential by the organizing committee.
From September 1 to September 30, the second round of voting will be held to choose the winners, which will be announced during the gala that will take place on October 15 at the Romea Theater in Murcia.
In September, the Special Awards and the Honorary Azahar Prize 2019 will also be announced.
