The Library of San Javier premieres autumn season (23/09/2019)

The San Javier library offers an autumn full of activities complementary to the world of books and study through talks, exhibitions, storytelling, book presentations and a lot of cinema.

The Councilor for Culture David Martínez and the coordinator of libraries Toni Díaz presented today the program of activities of the library that will be developed until next December, with a total of 20 proposals and many others in preparation that will be added to the offer of "a living entity that enriches the cultural life of the municipality, "Martínez said.

The program presented today recovers the storyteller in English with five appointments from October 19.

The social perspective, the promotion of health and personal growth or respect for animals are some of the topics of the scheduled talks to which others will be added in preparation such as the cycle started last season promoted by the Psychiatry Unit of the Los Arcos Hospital that this time will be called "Read to feel, feel to read."

Art will continue to occupy its space in the library with exhibitions such as "Sculptures, paintings and things with recycled materials" by Chilean artist Omar Vergara C. There will also be other exhibitions such as the bibliography on "S. XX: The sufferings of war. Winners and defeated. "

The cinema will serve to reflect once again in the San Javier library that together with the AIKE collective has programmed the cycle "Feelings found" with titles such as "The South", "Arrebato" or "Pink Flamingos".

The walls of the library will host this fall the presentation of the book "Eagles and Claw" by Commander Ramón Franco Bahamonde that will serve to remember the failed flight to New York in 1929, with the Los Alcázares Eco Cultural Association.

It also highlights the talk "Testimony of a coup: Chile 1973" told by Carlos Mestre, within the participatory cycle "Come to the library and tell it" in which the neighbors share their own experiences.

David Martínez invited to know the program and participate in the activities scheduled for the months of October, November and December, which are planned to incorporate new ones, such as those traditionally organized coinciding with the holiday of Halloween and Christmas .

The complete program can be consulted in different municipal buildings, in the municipal libraries, on the web https://www.bibliotecapublicas.es/sanjavier/ and profiles in social networks of the San Javier library.
