Mayor José Miguel Luengo opened the first barrel of the Oktoberfest San Javier 2019 (04/10/2019)

The Oktoberfest San Javier 2019 opened its doors last night until next Sunday in the San Javier party tent that these days reproduces the Munich beer fair with a careful setting in blue and white reminiscent of the German "Biergarten".

Following the German tradition the fair opened last night the mayor of the city.

José Miguel Luengo, mayor of San Javier, fulfilled the ritual of opening the first barrel with a blow of blow and the shout of "O'zapft is" which means "Open is" giving free access to the first beer mugs of this second edition in which the 7000 liters that were served last year will be exceeded.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo thanked Peña El Cantazo, organizer of the event, his work and the effort to make the Oktoberfest San Javier a tourist claim as demonstrated last year in its first edition, in addition to its social sensitivity, since it It is a beneficial and environmental event because of its decision to give up plastic.

Ricardo Luna, representative of the El Cantazo club, announced that all the utensils that will be used during the Fair will be biodegradable and invited the public to remember that while they enjoy the party they will also be contributing to the associations Aidemar, Abamur, and Parkinson Mar Menor to which will be used a large part of the collection, a gesture that was grateful for the representatives of the associations that were also present at the inauguration.

Luna also appealed to responsible consumption and recalled that the organization has provided extensive coverage of free and continuous buses to the site from all districts of the municipality of San Javier, in addition to Los Narejos and Los Alcázares, La Zenia, Pilar de la Horadada and San Pedro del Pinatar, to avoid taking the car.

A total of 30 people, all of them belonging to the organizing club, will work during the four days of the Oktoberfest in which, together with the different beer specialties, various types of German sausages, roast chicken, wings, ribs and hamburgers are also served.

The live music will put the soundtrack to the fair with five daily concerts from the opening of the venue at 12:00 until 02: 00h.
