Mayor José Miguel Luengo publicly thanked yesterday for the work done by the 70 components of the forest brigades and 10 firefighters sent by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia in a farewell ceremony that was held in the party tent coinciding with the last Oktoberfest day.
Accompanied by Civil Protection of San Javier and Local Police, the brigades exhibited on the esplanade of the enclosure the special vehicles that they have used during the last ten days in San Javier where they have been a fundamental aid in the process of recovering normalcy in the most affected by the floods last September 13.
The mayor was accompanied by the Councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz, the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Environment, Antonio Luengo and the General Directors of Environment, Francisco Marín, and Citizen Security and Emergencies, Antonio Mula who congratulated the troops who also received warmth and thanks from the public.
