Before committing the robbery they carried out a thorough study of the situation of the vehicles, their accesses and possible escape routes, always acting at night, all this to avoid being identified.

In one of the robberies, committed at dawn, the authors were surprised by witnesses from nearby homes.

On some occasion, in addition, they were detected trying to open the locks of all vehicles parked on the same street, to check if any were open or had damaged locks.

The investigations carried out allowed the researchers to delimit the area of action of this type of urban crime, in the case of streets with little traffic, isolated and with little security measures.
