San Javier keeps an official day of mourning in mourning for the death of Commander Eduardo Fermín Garvalena in the plane crash that occurred yesterday afternoon off the coast of La Manga del Mar Menor, during a training session of the Acrobatic Patrol Eagle in which the Eagle 5 or "Solo" piloted.

Also the carnival of Santiago de la Ribera suspended yesterday the contest of chirigotas as well as the one of choreographies scheduled for tonight.
José Miguel Luengo has highlighted the link between the municipality and the AGA for many years "which makes both joys and sorrows feel very closely".
The mayor of San Javier has expressed his condolences to the wife and daughters of the deceased commander, his family and friends as well as the family of the AGA and the Air Force "to whom we send all our support, solidarity, love and admiration in such sad times for everyone. â€
Luengo recalled Commander Garvalena, a neighbor of Santiago de la Ribera where he lived with his family, highlighting his good humor and his willingness to collaborate whenever the Patrol Águila was required from the Town Hall, as in the inauguration of the “Patrulla Águila†playground which he attended with his classmates photographing and signing posters to the children.
The City Council of San Javier put all its means of emergencies and Local Police at the disposal of the AGA since the accident was known by adding to the means of the Army and Civil Guard in the rescue device of the body and the wrecked aircraft that is still active.
