The Local Police carry out more than 10,000 identifications and impose 350 complaints for not complying with the containment measures (09/04/2020)

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo today lamented the death of an 80-year-old woman living in Santiago de la Ribera who became the third victim of the Coronavirus in the municipality of San Javier.

José Miguel Luengo conveyed his condolences to the family and recalled that the deceased woman chose years ago to stay and live in her second residence in Santiago de la Ribera where she was a neighbor.

On the first day of the Easter weekend and after the images that have been seen of traffic delays at the exit of some cities, the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo highlighted the work being carried out by the Local Police in controls of accesses to the municipality with more than 10,000 vehicle and person identifications and 350 complaints for breaching the confinement rules.

Luengo highlighted the good result of the coordination with which the Local Police and Civil Guard work and recalled the importance of acting at the points where these displacements originate.

Luengo explained that the retentions that have been seen were caused precisely by the controls that have been established on the roads and that in many cases the movements were justified according to the police.

He admits, despite the fact that there have been some successful displacements to the coast, and recalled that the City Council does everything it can within its powers to detect these cases and enforce the guidelines for non-displacements to second residences, with a reinforcement of controls and other measures such as the control of water consumption or the generation of organic waste.
