The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo reported today that this morning the 7000 masks that the Government Delegation has sent to San Javier have begun to be distributed, coinciding with the return to their posts of many non-essential service workers.

Luengo reported that the Civil Guard and Local Police have coordinated for the distribution of the masks that are being provided at ten points of police controls, at the entrance of industrial estates and works.

The mayor recalled that these masks are in addition to the more than 25,000 that the City Council has already distributed and that were made by volunteers.

In relation to the figures of the incidence of Coronavirus in the municipality, the mayor noted that they are still encouraging and reported that according to data from the Los Arcos Hospital, there has been no admission of infected patients since the last four days.

The hospital center is currently hosting 6 positive patients, 3 on the floor and 3 in the ICU.

The mayor announced in his speech today that the Department of Commerce and Local Development is working to make a detailed record of all businesses, companies and industries in the municipality to be promoted on the website of the department, as part of a plan acting, for when they can reopen their doors.

The Plan will pivot on the need to raise awareness among residents to buy and consume in any establishment in the municipality "now more than ever."

Councilor for Culture David Martínez accompanied the mayor in his speech today to announce an online music series, organized by the Conservatory of Music of San Javier, which under the name "Music for Hope" can be seen on the Facebook page of the City Council of San Javier on April 20, 21 and 22 at 7:00 p.m.

David Martínez explained that these are three recitals in which teachers and students will demonstrate the evolution of their work at home in addition to enriching the local cultural offer during confinement.

Martínez recalled the success of other cultural initiatives launched during confinement such as "San Javier, beacon of hope" that has filled windows and balconies with green hearts.

The mayor of Culture encouraged to continue participating in other initiatives such as the children's drawing contest "San Javier from my window", sending a photo to the WhatsApp of the Department of Education 690001171. He also recalled that the campaign to collect videos or audio is still open to create a local historical fund on how the pandemic is being lived in San Javier.
