The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo highlights the absence of major incidents on the first day of the minors' departure (27/04/2020)

| Luengo insists on individual responsibility for the de-escalation of confinement and calls for unique guidelines from the Government of the Nation for the City Councils | The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo thanked the population of San Javier today for the responsibility that, in general terms, he demonstrated on the first day that minors were allowed to go out on the street since the state of alert was decreed sanitary.

Luengo pointed out that there were no notable incidents in terms of concentrations of people who, in general, respected the social distancing measure, in public spaces in the municipality of San Javier. José Miguel Luengo highlighted the fact that there are still no new infections in the Region of Murcia, although he warned of the danger posed by the fact that the Region of Murcia, and specifically the Mar Menor area, has one of the lowest numbers of infections and therefore, of antibodies in the population, which could facilitate a regrowth of cases due to the de-escalation of confinement.

In this sense, he said that San Javier will be guided by what the Government of Spain says and proposes unique guidelines for all the municipalities of Spain. Luengo highlighted "the great effort made by the population in San Javier at this time" to warn "of the danger of returning to the previous situation." Given the new plans to de-escalate the Government, the mayor of San Javier recalled that San Javier is a municipality that receives thousands of people and that "although we are delighted to receive visitors, we want to do so with the maximum sanitary guarantees for the entire population." José Miguel Luengo also recalled the joint act that yesterday carried out all the municipal political groups represented by the five spokesmen of the PP, PSOE, Ciudadanos-C's, VOX and Unidas Podemos, who deposited a flower wreath with a black crepe in tribute to the deceased by COVID-19 in Spain before the Spanish flag placed in the Puerta del Mar square, in Santiago de la Ribera.

Luengo pointed out that together they wanted to convey to the population "a message of unity in the tragedy and also in the future relaunch of the municipality of San Javier when all this ends." In today's municipal communication on the evolution of the pandemic in San Javier, the Councilor for Education and Culture, David Martínez, intervened to report on a new sociocultural initiative that this time is carried out in collaboration with the group of Choirs and Dances Mar Less.

Martínez explained that although the folk group will not be able to celebrate their Mayos round, it has been tried to maintain the tradition by inviting the neighbors to develop their creativity to make their own May crosses and put them on the balcony.

Once made, a photo must be sent to WhatsApp 687723965 until May 1.

On May 2 will be published on the facebook of the City of San Javier and on Sunday May 3 will announce the winner who will receive a basket of flowers and seasonal fruits. Regarding Education, Martínez recalled that sending school work to students in the municipality is being done in a coordinated way between the City of San Javier, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the educational centers that identify the beneficiary children.

of this initiative for lacking technological resources in the Early Childhood stage and 1st and 2nd Primary.
