The Civil Guard dismantles a drug export route to the United Kingdom (01/06/2020)

| The sender of the drug, who sent marijuana by mail parcel from San Javier, has been arrested |  The destination was several cities in the United Kingdom This is the third anti-drug operation carried out in San Javier in recent weeks. The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has carried out the operation 'Redblock' in San Javier, which has resulted in the dismantling of a drug shipment route from San Javier to several cities in the United Kingdom.

So far, one person has been arrested for the crime of drug trafficking, and 1,250 kilos of marijuana have been seized. Members of the Public Safety Prevention of the Benemérita opened the operation last May, when a line of investigation linked to drug trafficking focused on a person who, allegedly, sent packages apparently with drugs through a transport agency from San Javier to several people in England, shipments made frequently and repetitively, in the form of postal parcels, always through the same transport company to the United Kingdom. The first investigations allowed the civil guards to identify a citizen of Indian nationality and settled in an urbanization linked to the practice of golf in the municipality of Murcia, which, presumably, sent the packages that supposedly contained the illegal substance. The suspect went completely unnoticed inside this type of urbanization, used vehicles with British registration and lived as one more tourist, without exercising any type of activity and holding several high-end vehicles. As a result of the investigation, the civil guards were able to verify that the package shipments did not conform to normality, since false identities were used for this and the same transport company was always used for all their packages.

The alleged perpetrator of the facts used his knowledge of the means of transport used, routes and security measures to avoid detection. Once all the necessary indications were obtained, the Civil Guard made the postal reservation of the package for its subsequent inspection, according to the Postal Legislation.

The shipment was submitted to an inspection with dogs from the Benemérita Cynological Service trained in drug detection, which reinforced the indications that the package contained drugs inside. Prior to judicial authorization, the package was opened and it was verified that it contained a large amount of marijuana packaged in a vacuum, with three layers of protection and wrapped in liquid with a strong odor to avoid detection, which finally yielded a total weight of 1,250 kilograms.

. The first phase of the operation has culminated in the arrest of the suspect, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, for drug trafficking.

It has also been carried out, with prior judicial authorization, the entry and search of the domicile of the arrested person, where the civil guards have seized effects related to the illicit activity that has been clarified. The operation is still open and new arrests are not ruled out, having opened the police coordination channels with the British authorities, to continue the investigations in the drug destination places. The detainee of Indian nationality, 34 years old and resident in Murcia, the drug seized, the effects seized and the investigative procedures have been made available to the Investigating Court of San Javier (Murcia). The development of the 'Redblock' operation has uncovered the modus operandi and dismantled a route for the shipment of drugs, mainly marijuana, from Murcia to the United Kingdom. Three operations against drug trafficking in San Javier This is the third operation carried out against drug trafficking in San Javier in recent days.

Last May, in the operation 'Lodon', the Civil Guard dismantled a criminal group made up of 14 people and dedicated to drug trafficking in the Mar Menor region, which seized more than 300 marijuana plants and doses of cocaine, heroin and hashish, as well as other effects related to drug trafficking. Also in San Javier, in this case in collaboration with the Civil Guard of Gijón, the 'Codro' operation has been developed, which has culminated in the dismantling of a drug shipment route from San Javier to Asturias.

In this operation, two people have been arrested and a large quantity of marijuana and doses of cocaine, heroin and hashish have been seized.
