The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo asks that San Javier be the permanent headquarters of the EBAU (06/07/2020)

| José Miguel Luengo visited the Faculty of Sports Sciences, which for the first time has been, together with the Minister for Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas EBAU regional headquarters for the health crisis | The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo has offered the municipality of San Javier as the permanent headquarters of the EBAU during a visit to the Faculty of Sports Sciences along with the Minister for Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas, in which they have been able to verify "the correct one" development of the first day of exams of the entrance exams to the University to which 385 students from San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcázares and Torre Pacheco have attended. José Miguel Luengo recalled that the facilities of the Faculty meet all the conditions to "make the crisis an opportunity" and ensure that the conjunctural headquarters of San Javier becomes permanent "so that the youth of the region can do this important test for your future close to home.

" Accompanied by the ediles of Education, David Martínez, Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz and Security, Rubén Pérez, the mayor of San Javier committed the future collaboration of the City Council as it happened on this first occasion in which "there has been a perfect coordination of municipal services with the University and the Faculty to improve the conditions in which students accessed a test in the current circumstances of health crisis.

" With this objective and in coordination with the University, the City Council has provided tables, fences, tents to prevent students from waiting in the sun for their entry time by groups, a Civil Protection device to tend any health incident, and police signaling and surveillance to guarantee road safety at the entrances to the site. The counselor Miguel Motas, who was accompanied by the director general of Universities, Josefa García, highlighted the good functioning of the headquarters on its first day.

"I think it is a day to congratulate us, although there are two days left," said the counselor who thanked the City Council for its collaboration with the Faculty.

She also remarked that "the students are complying with all the sanitary norms." Miguel Motas pointed out that the collaboration between administrations "has paid off" and thanked the U PCT, the UMU, the Faculty and the university volunteers for their work. In the same terms, Jesús García, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, stated that the first day, "which was expected to be the most complicated, is going very well" with strict compliance with all the sanitary regulations imposed, such as respect of the safety distance that has led to use even the hallways and stage of the assembly hall.

Jesús García also appreciated the close collaboration of the City Council and supported the mayor's proposal by offering the facilities of the Faculty "to host this type of event when necessary."
