The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo proposes the creation of a COVID point in the municipality (27/08/2020)

Meeting at Los Arcos hospital between those responsible for the VIII Mar Menor Health Area and the four mayors of the region to coordinate actions in the face of the increase in infections in the four municipalitiesThe mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo has proposed to the Murcian Health Service the creation of a COVID point in the municipality in order to expedite the performance of PCR tests in the municipality, which currently registers the highest incidence of infections in the Area Health Mar Menor.

The mayor made the proposal to create a COVID point, which would be the second in the region together with Los Narejos, at the meeting held today at the Los Arcos hospital between the manager of the VIII Health Area, Tomás Fernández and the medical director , Lázaro de Castro with the mayors of the four municipalities belonging to the Mar Menor Health Area.At the end of the meeting, which aimed to coordinate and unify criteria for action in the region, where there is a large population transfer, the mayor of San Javier reported that the City of San Javier will publish daily on social networks and on the website web data on the evolution of the pandemic in the municipality, provided from the hospital center.

The mayors of the region and those responsible for the hospital will meet every Tuesday to closely monitor the health situation in the area.

José Miguel Luengo also advanced his intervention in the municipal social networks with a weekly report to convey to the population updated information on the situation in the municipality and the decisions or recommendations that may be generated.In the meeting held today, the health officials of the region have asked the four mayors for the collaboration of the Town Councils so that they act among all social groups in order to effectively convey to the entire population the need to adopt all measures health services indicated by the authorities and monitor compliance.

Likewise, emphasis has been placed on the dissemination and promotion of the Radar COVID App among the population as an instrument to help the work of trackers.

The four municipalities have agreed to launch a communication campaign in several languages ??that will be disseminated in all public spaces of the four municipalities with the basic recommendations and useful information about the coronavirus.

Regarding the performance of PCRs,the manager of the VIII Mar Menor Health Area, Tomás Fernández informed the mayors that the new test process system at Los Arcos hospital will allow the time to obtain the results from 12 to 3 hours.
